While Bruna was born in a Maceió hospital, she was raised in the United States (California to be more precise, in Anaheim). It was during a vacation in Brazil that her mother went into labor and her father, as he dramatically states every time the story is told, nearly had a heart attack. Their baby was two weeks early, determined to get out into the world. She's of Japanese, Chinese, and Brazilian ethnicity.

Growing up in an upper middle-class family and a daddy's girl, Bruna wasn't necessarily a spoiled little princess. She's always prided herself in being an independent, self-sufficient young woman. Someone who wouldn't have a problem taking care of herself when she went out into that big, bad world that all of her friends seemed to be so scared of. As soon as her sixteenth birthday rolled around, she snagged a job in a clothing store at the neighborhood mall and held it up until two weeks before leaving for college.

Bruna's passion, the career that she's focused on, is photography. She's always admired the glossy photos in high fashion magazines and dreams of the day when she'll be the person capturing those gorgeous shots for Vogue and Vanity Fair.
